My students definitely make it easy to love what I do every day. Their enthusiasm for learning and gaining knowledge is incredible. The students help me to be grounded in my day – so I can be focused on the students and their needs.
So Fortunate!
Our first teacher workday is tomorrow! It’s hard to realize that another year is beginning. As a teacher we are fortunate that we have the chance to start over every year. Just as our students have a new beginning each year, we as teachers do as well.
Sometimes tried-and-true is good, and sometimes a new way is better. Change can be exciting and scary and a catalyst for success. The summer was a great time to reflect on things that worked as well as evaluate things that need to change. There is always room for improvement. The quote, “do what you love love what you do” is certainly one that I agree with wholeheartedly!
Starting over and building on the past – almost an oxymoron – but so much truth in that phrase.
“The more things change the more they stay the same.”

‘A book’s a pleasant thing to have nearby .’
After reading that quote, I looked around and smiled. Based on that quote, I live in a very pleasant house! You don ‘t have to go far to get a book. There are always books waiting to be read or re-read here!

Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.’ Dr. Seuss
During Dr. Seuss week, it’s easy to enjoy his works at any level. The under-lying meaning is as important as the enthusiasm and smiles it brings.

Teamwork
No matter what position someone has on a school faculty, they are one of our students’ teachers. The more we acknowledge their strengths, the more we can support our students. Everyone has something to offer to our students.
